This workshop will introduce the elements of the
Gestalt therapeutic process with children, as
developed by Violet Oaklander, Ph. D. It focuses on
each element of the process and the use of
expressive and impressive techniques to support the
integration of the child’s experience. Fundamental
principles and concepts of Gestalt therapy will also
be discussed. This workshop is experiential,
didactic, and interactive. Participants will
practice the use of projective techniques in their
work with children.

Felicia Carroll is a
child and adolescent therapist in
private practice in Solvang,
California. She has studied and been
a co-leader with Violet Oaklander
for more than 20 years. She has
credentials in educational
psychology, child development, and
counseling psychology. She is a
certified play therapist-supervisor
with the Association of Play
Therapy, a certified member of the
Gestalt Therapy Institute of Los
Angeles and is a Certified
Supervisor through the California
Association of Marriage and Family
Therapy. She serves as adjunct
faculty at Pacifica Graduate
Institute and California Polytechnic
State University. Felicia teaches at
Gestalt Institutes in Europe in
addition to offering training
programs in the United States. She
has been recognized for her work
with children and adolescents as a
keynote speaker and presenter at
major conferences in play therapy
and child psychotherapy. She has
published several chapters about
Gestalt therapy with children and on
topics related to Gestalt
psychotherapy. She is currently
working on a book about her
perspectives on the journey to
wholeness as illustrated in the
classic story of Pinocchio. |
